In CONNING THE TEXT text from Edith Sitwells ground breaking sound poem FACADE is read by Julia Moody, and cut up by the sound artist Rob Muir. It is assigned as a ring tone to the handsets, which are then called according to a composition running from a phone tool/call up. Similar in approach to PHONEBOX, CONNING THE TEXT uses words instead of sounds; and callers to the installation hear words breaking up the preset composition,
