Metaphonica is a collective of sound artists founded by Rob Muir and Cat Hope. The duo formed METAPHONICA in 2005 on receipt of a BEAPworks research grant into sound and mobile phones. THier work has developed into a broader range of sound art practice.  They have completed three major installations, completed presentations on thier work at research forums and competed a refereed white paper  published in the first volume of the Totally Huge New Music Conference proceedings publication, Sound Scripts. Thier work has been featured at the Liquid Architecture Festival of Sound Arts, the Bienalle of Electronic Art Perth and at the Transmediale Festival in Berlin, Germany. THier work has been discussed in academic papers and the subject of reivew.
